The provision of new business learning means we must first learn how to let go of the past.

This statement by Mike Sylvester Business Mentor is the philosophy to which we can all sign up.

So many of our busy hours are filled with attempting to manage better results. As a consequence stress related illness is on the increase. Hours crammed with rushing about trying to achieve aims and objectives which are unachievable within the time frames we set ourselves and for why?

The new thinking is not about managing results. After all when one has a result it is final! Too much time spent on analysing things that have already happened and measuring them against old fashioned ideas.

In the future we must manage activities, not results.

Our minds are full of management strategies and so we do not recognise the need to let go and motivate new enthusiasm.

Leadership is no longer from the front as it was in the last century. Encouraging vast numbers of people to do as they were told. It is now about encouraging individuals to be creative. Particularly in small business where Europe leads the commercial world.

Today we must manage people the way they are not the way we want them to be.
